Capacity Expansion at Transport Hubs

Our Services

Driving Efficiency: The Role of Result in Maximizing Transport Capacity!

It is about redefining how effectively existing assets, infrastructure, and workflows are utilized before costly infrastructure build!

Optimise existing infrastructure capacity

Support the design of new infrastructure

Design of the operating model and customer experience that the infrastructure needs to deliver

Conops and operational readiness

Ensuring the new operation is ready for day 1 and that Conops are delivered

operational readiness
  • We undertake a Lean Six-Sigma approach and data-driven analysis to quantify 'baseline capacity' of infrastructure and throughput losses.

  • Our background brings 'Automotive Style' process skills including Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Theory of Constraints.

  • We identify and address critical Bottlenecks to achieve system ‘Ceiling’ Performance.....clearly showing what can be achieved prior to building new infrastructure.

  • Development of an Optimal Improvement Roadmap and Transition Plan to show how clients can maximise benefit.

  • Where appropriate, we validate capacity gains using Simulation Modelling to test future scenarios and validate our findings.

  • We use a mix of specialists from our network including architects and cost engineers so are able to provide a wrap around service for the entire improvement programme.

We work with architects and key stakeholders to ensure the future architectural designs will achieve the functional objectives

  • We work with stakeholders to define the requirements for the functional design and clearly document them.

  • We liaise with the architects to ensure they are aware of the requirements and understand them.

  • Where key customer journey processes are required, we clearly set out the performance standards that are required and the number of facilities to deliver the capacity.

  • As the architects produce scheme designs for the infrastructure, we create simulation (digital twin) versions of the design and test capacity and constraints of the design.

  • The architects can then re-iterate the designs and we have a period of design improvement until the design is optimised.

Don’t let your first customers be your test subjects. If you’re preparing for opening an airport terminal, shopping centre or even starting a new production line then we’ll make sure your systems and procedures are robust enough for that nice, smooth operation you had in your mind at the planning stage.

  • Establish requirements

Customer requirements, stakeholder requirements –  Our first step is to understand what everyone aspires to achieve from the business operations.

  • Communication channels

We ensure that everyone has an open communication channel and visibility of agreed outcomes and milestones throughout the project.

  • Process Design

We work in tandem with the construction of your new facility so that optimised process design is, quite literally, built in.

  • Construction

We generate a 3D visualisation model so that we can test processes prior to construction completion. While this does not remove the need for actual, real world testing, it does allow us to work on process development before your building is finished.

  • Proving trials

To prove a process, we test it under real world conditions – or as near to it as we can get. We’ll even generate high capacity scenarios to make sure everything works under pressure.

  • Improvements and iterations

It’s never a one-shot process. We analyse and learn from the trial and make tweaks and improvements until we’ve hit maximum efficiency.

  • Documentation

We document everything and provide you with all the detailed information you need on your processes.

  • Training

We make sure your own training staff are well versed in our established procedures and understand them well enough to train everyone else.

  • Opening day support

Our team will give their support on open day and beyond – just to make extra sure that all those detailed processes are working as they should and to help your staff get used to the new working practices.
